For a theatre director I’ve been spending a surprising amount of time behind a podcast mic lately… I've even built a new Audio page of my website to collect all of my past and current projects in this realm. But first, a quick update on some fun ways to keep up with Ladies & Fools!

Don’t miss a moment of Ladies & Fools!

My Ladies & Fools troupe is currently partnering with the Circle Festival (running Sept-Oct) to spread the word about their exciting slate of off-Broadway performances. In exchange, we hope to be able to offer an informal workshop of one of our plays-in-development in collaboration with the festival venue. Details are still in the works, but here are a few ways you can support our partnership and be the first to receive news of our next presentation:

  • Check out the Circle Festival’s offerings! If you book tickets, use our promo code NKC for a 10% discount :)

  • Follow Ladies & Fools on Patreon, and receive the first updates on any upcoming work! If you select to follow our page for free, you’ll receive periodic emails from us. If you are interested to set up a small monthly donation (including $2 and $5 levels), rather like a mini membership, you will gain access to fun perks such as behind-the-scenes blog posts and early ticket info.

Coming soon to a pod near you:

A genre-bending new play…

If you’ve followed the blog for a while, then you’ll be familiar with Premiere the Play, a podcast producing an eclectic collection of new plays as audio dramas each year. Season 5 releases are now underway, with new plays each Tuesday and playwright interviews each Thursday. On October 7, I’m excited to share my directing contribution to the new season, Janine Sobeck Knighton’s inspiring and original two-hander Sing in Me, Muse. Ever wish you could summon an ancient Greek muse to solve your artist’s block? Ever wonder if the great artists of history might have wanted to do the same? Tune in to explore these scenarios and more!

A pop-infused mystery…

What would happen if a pop star's fans used their hidden message sleuthing skills to solve an actual mystery? In a surprising twist, I did not create or direct this project -- but you’ll actually be able to hear me perform in it! Earlier in August I spent a whirlwind two days in the studio for my friend and fellow director Danielle Cumming’s Radio Violence project, both running the sound board and doing a little bit of voice acting. Radio Violence is a narrative fiction podcast following a clever young fan and her dad as they investigate singer Aster’s mysterious disappearance. Episode drops will be coming your way this spooky season, and you can follow the show on social media to start receiving updates.

…and a peak behind the dramaturgical curtain!

Ever wanted to hear more about what exactly we do on the Research Team for Expand the Canon? You’re in luck! For this year’s edition of ETC’s This Is A Classic podcast, we’ll be curating conversations between members of the team on a variety of topics. We're looking forward to recording this fall, followed by staggered episode drops throughout the new season. In the meantime, you can check out our back catalogue of episodes spotlighting all of our ETC-featured plays, as well as hearing me and a few other researchers on our July episode toasting Expand the Canon.
