With NYC Fringe just a few days away, my main focus of late has been directing rehearsals and coordinating producing details for my production of Conceal Me What I Am at the Chain Studio Theatre. Scroll down for all the details on our in-person and live-streamed performances!
It’s also been a rewarding month of dance classes and one-day readings, with a few more coming up in April.

Fringe Hub: Conceal Me What I Am

Through monologue, scene, and tableau, Conceal Me What I Am takes audiences on a whirlwind tour through the “breeches roles” of classical theatre. Branching out from the iconic Shakespearean examples of Viola and Rosalind, the show also incorporates fascinating lesser-known variations on the trope from female+ dramatists including Ana Caro, Elizabeth Polwhele, and Hannah Cowley. Performed by a powerhouse ensemble of three, this hour-long piece weaves together a dynamic exploration of gender, identity, and popular art.
After an exciting debut at several smaller festivals last summer, my little producing banner of Ladies & Fools returns for our biggest outing yet at NYC Fringe this spring! Interested to learn more?

Other April Happenings
Take Root Dance Class - 4/14 @ 8pm
During March I taught my first Take Root class for Forager Theatre, and it was such a pleasure to teach all-level ballroom again (as I did a great deal in college). Take Root is a welcoming and accessible weekly class, held Mondays 8-9:30pm for dancers of all backgrounds, offering a rotation of styles from different teachers in a pay-what-you-can, “come to one class or many” format. I will be teaching again for the upcoming spring session, beginning with Tango on 4/14. Please RSVP (at the link above) to receive our class location and full details!
PlayGround NY Reading - 4/28 @ 7pm
Now in four cities around the US, PlayGround hosts a resident company of playwrights and produces an evening of short plays each month. I had a wonderful time directing one of the featured plays for the “Sci-Fi” themed March show, after assisting with several events earlier in the year. To wrap up the season, April will offer a “Best of” showcase reviving favorite plays from the 2024-25 cycle, and I look forward to seeing which pieces will be featured. PlayGround Monday is a free event open to the public in-person at the Producers Club or via a virtual livestream.
