I’m back to share some correspondence and updates this month, including a recap of the Zig-Zag reading and a new way to keep in touch with Ladies & Fools!
In Review: Zig-Zag Reading
Earlier in May we had a very successful reading of Zig-Zag as part of the Icebreaker Reading Series. It was rewarding to direct the play for a live audience after collaborating on the piece remotely for several years, and a delight to help playwright Philip Catherwood with his New York debut. Many thanks to all who attended for the attentive response and thoughtful feedback, and we hope there will be more adventures to come for this play!

Want more Zig-Zag in the meantime?
Check out a feature article on the reading from Shared Future, a Northern Irish news site
Listen to our 2021 audio production of the play from the Premiere the Play podcast, or tune into Philip’s award-winning fiction podcast, The Dial-Up

Keep up with Ladies & Fools!
I am at work behind-the-scenes on what will hopefully be the next several projects for Ladies & Fools, but until we have confirmed news to share… We would love to invite you to keep in touch with us between shows on Patreon! Patreon is a simple-to-use platform for artists and creatives, allowing us to offer quick updates as well as donation opportunities to support the troupe.
If you select to follow our page for free, you’ll receive periodic emails when we have updates such as upcoming performances or livestreams.
If you are interested to set up a small monthly donation (including $2 and $5 levels), rather like a mini membership, you will gain access to fun perks such as behind-the-scenes blog posts and early ticket info. And of course, you will also receive our tremendous gratitude for helping us to continue creating and producing exciting theatre!!

Upcoming Events
The Colors of Paradise Dance Concert - 7/13 @ 2pm
Save the date for Forager Theatre Company’s upcoming summer dance concert! Themed around “The Colors of Paradise,” the concert will uplift and celebrate the dreams and aspirations of othered groups and explore the many ways that paradise reveals itself. As part of the teaching team for Forager’s Take Root dance classes, I anticipate being involved in the event as a dancer and choreographer. I will have more details to share in next month’s blog, but I am very much looking forward to the prospect of blending partner dance and contemporary styles in my composition for the concert.
