There’s a crisp breeze in the air (some days), pumpkin and cinnamon flavors are back, and it’s shaping up to be a busy autumn! I’ve been juggling a whole assortment of projects lately, rather than being in one full-time rehearsal process (hopefully more of that coming soon…), so I have a whole sampler of releases and events to share this month:

Last Call: Circle Festival Partnership
Since August, my Ladies & Fools troupe has been partnering with the Circle Festival to spread the word about their exciting season of off-Broadway offerings. The 2025 Festival returns for a final weekend of jam-packed performances October 18-19, and we are in the works with their team to put up an informal workshop of one of our plays-in-development as part of the festivities! Details are still coming together, but here are a few ways you can support our partnership and be the first to receive news of our next presentation:
Check out the Circle Festival’s final weekend! If you book tickets, use our promo code NKC for a 10% discount :)
Follow Ladies & Fools on Patreon, and be the first to hear about our next projects! If you select to follow our page for free, you’ll receive periodic emails from us. If you are interested to set up a small monthly donation (including $2 and $5 levels), rather like a mini membership, you will gain access to fun perks such as behind-the-scenes blog posts and early ticket info.
Coming Soon: October Calendar
Here’s an overview of this month’s spooky and sweet happenings!

October 7 - Sing in Me, Muse releases on the Premiere the Play podcast. I directed this fun and genre-blending radio play a few months back, and you can read all about it in last month’s post.
October 17 - Day of the Dead Ladies: An Expand the Canon Halloween Party
We’re raising funds to raise the dead… legacies of women and gender expansive classic playwrights throughout history! Join us for an unforgettable night of music, “seances” with a few of our favorite playwrights, and spooky theatrical fanfare as our coven gathers to fight our greatest horror (women being systemically erased from the classic canon). My research team has been involved in much of the preparation for the event, and we can’t wait for the festivities to begin.
October 18-19 - Ladies & Fools Workshop @ Circle Festival
See above, and stay tuned!
October 20 - Teaching Take Root: Swing Dance
Forager Theatre Company’s pay-what-you-can, all levels dance class continues on Monday evenings this fall, and I’m thrilled to be back teaching some more ballroom and social dancing. Next up I’ll be teaching Swing on 10/20 at 8pm, and you can expect some fun seasonal tunes…
October 27 - PlayGround Mondays: Murder Mystery
Mark your calendar for the first short-play evening of the new season, featuring ten-minute mysteries from PlayGround’s resident playwrights.
October 31 - Radio Violence releases wherever you get your podcasts! I loved collaborating on this six-part audio mystery over the summer, and you can find all the clues in last month’s post. In the meantime, build the suspense by checking out our exciting official trailer…
Save the Date: Dramaturgy
Looking ahead, I’ve been in collaboration with a few New York new works headed your way later this year…
Future Came And Went
I’ve enjoyed contributing to script revisions for this lyrical experimental work, which imagines an epilogue to Chekhov's Three Sisters. Tickets are on sale for this talented team’s debut, running Nov 21-23.

I’ll certainly be sharing more about this project in a future post, but I’m looking forward to spending some time in rehearsal with Forager Theatre Company this fall. Mark your calendars to come join us at Culture Lab LIC December 4-7!
